Brianne Sidonie Desaulniers – or just Brie Larson – was born on October 1, 1989 in Sacramento, California, United States. After her parents separation, Brie moved to Los Angeles alongsinde with her mother and her younger sister. She was home-schooled until she was six years old, when she was approved at the American Conservatory Theater, becoming the youngest student to be accepted into the acting school. At seven, she was sure she wanted to be an actress.

Her first work was in 1998, with minor appearances in the program The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Subsequently, she appeared in series such as Touched by an Angel and Dad Raising. She made her film debut in 2003 with Disney’s Right on Track and a year later made appearances in the films 13 Going on 30 and Sleepover. In the same year she signed a contract with Casablanca Records and announced her first single, “She Said”, starting her musical career. In 2005, his only album, Finally Out of P. E, was released.

In 2009 she got a prominent role in the series United States of Tara, in addition to starring in the film Tanner Hall, alongside actress Rooney Mara. In 2010 she played Envy Adams in the film Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World, based on the comic of the same name, and made appearances in some episodes of the Community series. She continued to play small roles until 2012, the year she landed a role in the comedy 21 Jump Street. But it was in 2013 that Brie starred as Grace in the acclaimed independent film, Short Term 12. Her performance was targeted by critics and many agreed to describe her performance as “Oscar-worthy.”

2015 was her great year. She starred in the comedy Trainwreck and the film adaptation Room – based on the book by Emma Donoghue – which earned her the Academy Award for Best Actress in 2016, as well as several other awards and nominations that honored her performance in the dramatic film.

In May of 2016, her engagement was announced with Alex Greenwald, lead singer of the band Phantom Planet, with whom she has had a relationship for years. In july 2016, it was announced that Brie Larson is going to portrait the first Marvel’s female heroin on big screen Captain Marvel, which will be release in 2019, she was also confirmed to appear as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel on Avengers untitled movie.

In 2017, she featured in A24’s Free Fire, Warner’s Kong: Skull Island and Lionsgate’s The Glass Castle.

Nowadays, besides acting, Brie acts as director, scriptwriter and producer.
